100% digital documents for Baloon, the first pan-African digital insurance broker

In just a few years, AssurTech Baloon has become the leading pan-African digital insurance broker.

Established in six countries, the startup has combined its brokerage expertise, digital development, and innovative strategy to become a key player. To strengthen its geographical presence, Baloon relies on a team of around 100 people. In total, more than 100,000 contracts have been completed, simplifying insurance to make it accessible to as many people as possible. It is in this context that Baloon equipped itself with Naelan's KSL solution to optimize its customer communication.


Baloon chooses KSL for its customer communication documents


Baloon focuses a significant portion of its business on the digital brokerage business, driven by the dynamism of the market; at the same time, the startup wanted to capitalize on this expertise in the field by developing a B2B offering for a fully dematerialized brokerage platform. The objective of this digital application dedicated to players in the insurance sector is to distribute insurance products via a network of professionals and through partnerships (telecom operators, distributors, banks); this B2B offering covers the entire brokerage value chain from underwriting to management.

To address the business challenges of its two activities, Baloon wanted to rely on an agile and flexible market player to produce personalized customer relationship documents and chose Naelan and its KSL Suite software solution.

The beginning of this collaboration began in Paris a few months after the birth of Baloon, between the close-knit Baloon team around its founder Bertrand Vialle and Naelan.

The KSL solution was quickly deployed in SaaS mode; it is interfaced with Baloon's insurance application, and provides on-demand management document generation services. Special conditions and certificate templates are created by the publishing team for automobile, travel, health, and home insurance quotes; they are designed and managed using KSL Suite's modeling tools and apply the expected business rules and formatting. Based on these templates, documents are generated by employees, electronically signed, and then sent to an electronic safe.


Customer communication by KSL: multiple benefits for Baloon


Document management is proving to be a key component for Baloon, both from a regulatory perspective and in terms of customer relations, and employees can be sure they're sending professional, reliable, and consistent documents. Furthermore, thanks to KSL, the legal department can easily upgrade and maintain its document templates.

Implemented and operational in a few weeks , the KSL solution quickly gave complete satisfaction and was unanimously approved by the company's employees who benefit from an ergonomic solution, easy to learn and use.

The pooling of editions and documentary components of the special conditions also allows the integration and validation of new models in record time by the new structures that join the group. This time saving noted by Baloon is a considerable advantage, since it frees up time for the IT teams; the latter can thus concentrate on other projects in their core business.

The management and triggering of the generation of personalized documents is done in an agile manner via APIs meeting the need for flexibility . Integration with other applications in the information system is fluid and transparent thanks to this connection; it allows Baloon to digitize the entire document creation and distribution process.

Finally, Naelan brought his publishing expertise to Baloon's IT teams from the start of the project and continues to provide his services around the operation of KSL solutions; this support allows Baloon to focus on its insurance business.

Building on this success, AssurTech Baloon is now considering expanding KSL to other document families. At the same time, Baloon continues to market its offerings to other major players in the African insurance sector.
